The Eta Eta Lambda Chapter of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc. received recognition from Arundel High School for its ongoing support of students through the In-School Alpha Academy Program—a mentoring initiative focused on career planning, financial responsibility, and leadership development.

On June 21, 2025, brothers of the Eta Eta Lambda Chapter of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc. proudly participated in the Anne Arundel County Juneteenth Festival at the Anne Arundel County Fairgrounds. The chapter hosted an informational tent to engage the community about Alpha Phi Alpha’s mission, national programs, and local initiatives—including Alpha Academy—while also promoting voter registration and civic engagement.

This past Friday, the Eta Eta Lambda Foundation, Inc.  hosted its 3rd Annual Golf Tournament  at the stunning Bay Hills Golf Club  in Arnold, MD — and it was a total success! The Eta Eta Lambda Foundation’s Alpha Academy Mentoring Program concluded another remarkable year of youth development with its End-of-Season Banquet—a celebration of learning, leadership, and community that brought together mentees, parents, and mentors.

On Saturday, May 25, 2025, mentees from the Alpha Academy Mentoring Program set sail for an unforgettable day on the water. Two chartered boats carried students from our Annapolis High School, Arundel High School, and Saturday mentoring programs on a fishing adventure across the Eastern Shore of the Chesapeake Bay.

The Alpha Academy Mentoring Program hosted one of its marquee annual events—the Pinewood Derby Competition at Annapolis High School. This year’s friendly rivalry brought together mentees from Eta Eta Lambda Chapter and Kappa Epsilon Lambda Chapter, sparking excitement, creativity, and camaraderie among students and mentors alike.

Brothers of the Eta Eta Lambda Chapter of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc. traveled to McDaniel College to support and celebrate former Alpha Academy mentee, Evan Cowling, as he officially entered the House of Alpha. His induction—an honor rarely achieved by freshmen—reflects his exceptional character, leadership, and the lasting influence of the Alpha Academy Mentoring Program.

Yesterday was an unforgettable day for Bro. Dillard's mentee Josh, a freshman at UMES! He had the privilege of coordinating a Shadow Day for him with Senator Shaneka Henson, and her amazing Chief of Staff made sure Josh even got to meet Bro. Governor Moore. The whole day, Josh kept saying, "I can't believe this is happening to me!" Moments like these are what mentorship is all about—opening doors, creating opportunities, and showing the next generation what’s possible. #Alpha

Alpha Academy mentees expanded their understanding of college life through campus tours at both Morgan State University and Towson University. The visits introduced them to academic programs, student life, financial aid resources, and the history and culture of two of Maryland’s leading institutions of higher learning.
