The Alpha Academy Mentoring Program, supported by the Eta Eta Lambda Foundation, Inc., took mentorship to new depths—literally—by treating mentees to a chartered fishing trip on the Chesapeake Bay.
On May 25, 2025, young men from Annapolis High School, Arundel High School, and the Saturday mentoring cohort enjoyed a day filled with learning, laughter, and leadership in action. For many of the students, this was their first time on a boat, providing both a fun and confidence-building experience as they learned the fundamentals of fishing and teamwork.
Beyond the fishing lines and open waters, the trip represented the heart of Alpha Academy’s mission—to broaden horizons, build brotherhood, and create lasting memories that reinforce positive mentorship.

“It’s not just about fishing—it’s about giving these young men a new perspective on what’s possible when they’re supported, guided, and encouraged.”— Bro. Michael Askins - Alpha Academy Pinewood Derby Instructor
And don’t miss the incredible drone shots from our Drone Program Instructor — they offer a soaring view of the day’s adventure and remind us just how far these young men can go when they have the right support and perspective.
