As part of its ongoing mission to develop well-rounded, culturally aware young men, the Alpha Academy Mentoring Program—supported by the Eta Eta Lambda Foundation, Inc.—hosted its annual walking tour of Annapolis, Maryland.
This cherished tradition gives mentees the opportunity to explore the city on foot while discovering the stories behind its historic buildings, cobblestone streets, and waterfront views. Guided by knowledgeable mentors and local historians, students learned about Annapolis’s role in colonial America, its architectural legacy, and the enduring influence of African American history and culture in the region.
The tour offers more than just historical insight—it connects students to their community in a meaningful way. By walking through the same streets that have witnessed centuries of change, mentees gain a deeper appreciation for heritage, perseverance, and civic pride.
\The walking tour has become an annual highlight for both mentors and mentees, combining education, exploration, and brotherhood in one unforgettable experience.
