On January 31, 2026, the Eta Eta Lambda Chapter of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc. participated in the Polar Plunge for the fourth consecutive year. This year’s event took place shortly after a blizzard, which left the region covered in thick ice, impacting participation levels. Nevertheless, brothers from the chapter showed unwavering commitment to the cause and braved the frigid waters to support a worthy initiative.

The Polar Plunge serves a significant purpose by raising funds for the Special Olympics, an organization dedicated to providing athletic opportunities for individuals with intellectual disabilities. This event aligns with the chapter's mission of community service and civic engagement, reflecting our commitment to making a positive impact in the lives of others.

Through their participation, the brothers of the Eta Eta Lambda Chapter contributed to the success of this fundraising effort, which not only supports the Special Olympics but also fosters a spirit of brotherhood and community involvement. The funds raised will help ensure that athletes have access to training, competitions, and resources necessary for their development and success.

As the chapter continues to engage in activities that uplift the community, the Polar Plunge stands as a testament to the enduring commitment of Eta Eta Lambda brothers to service and advocacy. This event strengthens our ongoing initiatives and reinforces the importance of supporting organizations that empower individuals with disabilities.
