The Eta Eta Lambda Chapter of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc. proudly joined the community in supporting the annual “Stuff the Bus” school supply drive, an event that continues to embody the spirit of service and generosity inspired by its founder, Dr. Tim Tooten.
Although Dr. Tooten passed away last year, his vision for ensuring that every child starts the school year fully equipped lives on. This year’s drive was a powerful reminder that his legacy of caring for children and families remains strong.
Serving Students, Strengthening Community
Our brothers helped collect and organize hundreds of donated school supplies—everything from backpacks and notebooks to pencils, crayons, and other classroom essentials. These resources will go directly to local students who might otherwise begin the year without the tools they need to succeed.
By joining with community partners and volunteers, Eta Eta Lambda reaffirmed Alpha Phi Alpha’s commitment to education and service. Every packed backpack is more than just supplies; it represents opportunity, confidence, and the belief that every child deserves a strong start.
Carrying the Torch of Service
This year’s event was both a tribute to Dr. Tooten’s life and a call to action for all of us to continue his mission. His example reminds us that service does not end with one individual—it becomes a shared responsibility we carry forward together.
The brothers of Eta Eta Lambda are honored to help keep Dr. Tooten’s dream alive and to play a part in empowering the next generation of students.
