Bro. Davesus Omosun - Annapolis High School Black History Month Celebration
The Black Student Union was started by Tinesha McNeill a season educator and member of Sigma Gamma Rho Sorority Inc. Her, along with Bro. Davesus Omosun and two other staff members have helped black and brown students at Annapolis High School make history with this year's Black History Month celebration. The BSU hosted several events using the theme, Black Resistance, Black Resilience, Black Renaissance. The speaker series features prominent African Americans from the Anne Arundel County area, to include the first Black male Superintendent Dr. Mark Bidell. Other events included a libation ceremony, spirit week, and the first annual Beautifully Black Expo. History was made because this was the first time black month was celebrated to this magnitude and students of color given space to be seen, heard, and celebrated.

Testimonial
Brothers I was to congratulate and say great job to Brother Davesus Omosun and the ANNAPOLIS HS BLACK STUDENT UNION for an awesome Black Expo event last night at Annapolis HS. This was the first time event at the HS and the advisors and BSU club gave us powerful poems, spoken word, dance, musical numbers, monologues uplifting videos and more. Many turned out to support. Their displays gave us countless history of black culture and more importantly some great history about AA CTY AND ANNAPOLIS! I’m so proud of those young men and women who performed!!! 06 to our brother!!!!!🤙🏽
