In-School Mentoring

Structure:

Meeting once a week for 1 hour per week. Program is set up for 10 young men. The meeting time will vary based on the mentors availability. The cost of the background checks for mentors will be covered by the school, as well as the cost for attending any planned trips. 

 

Planned Dates: 

Once a week every week for the majority of the school year. Trips are being planned for every other month. Please coordinate with Bro. Dillard for specific start date

 

Need: 

Need 10 brothers total because the program includes 10 young men currently, and a mentor is being requested for each young man.

Topics: 

Bro. Dillard has various topics and trips planned for the young men this school year.

Structure:

Meeting once a month on the 3rd Thursday of the month for 1 hour (11:30A - 12:30P). The 10/27 date will be the introductory session explaining what the rest of the school year will look like. Awaiting the final word from the school on the background check process and if our background checks may suffice. 

 

Planned Dates:

10/27/22, 11/17/22, 12/15/22, 1/19/23, 2/16/23, 3/16/23, 4/20/23, 5/18/23

 

Need:

2-3 brothers for 1 hour each month. Does not need to be the same brothers, and in the months we have guest speakers we will only need 1-2 additional brothers.

Topics:

We are still finalizing the topics for each month. So far we have Black Male Handbook topics, Financial literacy, Self defense, Know your Rights etc.
