A Beloved Member of Eta Eta Lambda Chapter and a True Alpha Man
It is with heartfelt reverence and deep gratitude that we gathered in remembrance to celebrate the remarkable life of Brother Lester Sims. His service, dedication, and unwavering commitment to his family, community, and fraternity have left an indelible mark on all who knew him.
Brother Sims was initiated into the Eta Eta Lambda Chapter of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc. in the Spring of 1990. From the moment he joined, his presence was a beacon of brotherhood, leadership, and service. Over the years, he exemplified the true spirit of Alpha Phi Alpha—serving others with humility, integrity, and unwavering dedication. Through the men he mentored and guided and certainly through the relationships he cultivated, Brother Sims' example of brotherhood was one to follow.
In May 2025, at Mt. Zion United Methodist Church in Annapolis, Maryland, we celebrated his extraordinary life and legacy. His transition was marked by a full Omega Service, a solemn and meaningful transition that honored his journey and the impact he made within our brotherhood and beyond.
Brother Sims' legacy extends far beyond his membership. He was a husband, father, mentor, a friend, and a source of inspiration to many. His contributions to his community, his church, and his fraternity will continue to resonate for years to come.
As we reflect on his life, let us remember his unwavering spirit, his commitment to service, and the love he shared with all. Though he has transitioned from this earthly realm, his legacy lives on in the hearts of those he touched.
We extend our deepest condolences to his wife, daughters, and loved ones. May his soul rest in eternal peace.
In Brotherhood, Love, and Service,
The Eta Eta Lambda Chapter of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc.
