In an inspiring effort to promote sustainability, education, and community engagement, the Eta Eta Lambda Chapter of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc. has teamed up with the Eta Eta Lambda Foundation and the EnBloom Collective to establish a vibrant community garden in Annapolis, Maryland. Led by Brother Michael Ligons, this innovative project aims to serve as a learning hub and a source of fresh produce for local residents.
The community garden initiative focuses on engaging area youth in hands-on learning about the benefits of planting fruits and vegetables, fostering healthy eating habits, and understanding the Earth's energy sources. Through workshops, guided planting sessions, and ongoing maintenance, young participants are empowered to connect with nature, develop green-thumb skills, and appreciate the importance of sustainability.
The project not only promotes environmental awareness but also encourages teamwork, responsibility, and a deeper understanding of how nature’s resources sustain us.
The partnership with the Eta Eta Lambda Foundation and EnBloom Collective embodies our chapter’s commitment to service and education, aligning with our mission to develop leaders and promote brotherhood through community upliftment. We invite the community to support this meaningful initiative as we work together to cultivate a greener, more vibrant Annapolis.
Stay tuned for updates on the progress of the garden, and join us in celebrating this vital step toward environmental stewardship and youth empowerment.
