In June 2025, the City of Annapolis formally recognized the Eta Eta Lambda Chapter of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc. with a prestigious City Council Citation, commending the chapter’s enduring dedication to service, leadership, and community engagement.

The citation, presented at City Hall, celebrates Eta Eta Lambda’s work in strengthening neighborhoods through mentoring, civic outreach, and collaborative partnerships with local organizations and government agencies.

On behalf of the residents of Annapolis, the City Council expressed appreciation for the fraternity’s ongoing efforts to “create positive change and build a stronger community for all.”

This recognition reflects the collective commitment of Eta Eta Lambda brothers to the fraternity’s mission of “Manly Deeds, Scholarship, and Love for All Mankind.” Whether through youth mentorship, voter education, or community health initiatives, the chapter continues to demonstrate what it means to lead with purpose and serve with compassion.

“It’s an honor to serve a city that values collaboration and community impact. This recognition belongs to every brother who continues to uphold our mission through action.”Bro. Michael Bertty, Chapter President
