On November 10, 2024, the Eta Eta Lambda Chapter of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc. honored Brother William Keyes, a 103-year-old member of the fraternity, for his lifetime of service and sacrifice.

Brother Keyes was presented with a Certificate of Appreciation recognizing his “exemplary and honorable performance of duties while serving in the military.” His commitment to duty and perseverance reflect the highest traditions of the Army, Navy, Marine Corps, Air Force, Coast Guard, and Space Force.

This presentation was made possible through the work of the chapter’s Brother’s Keeper Committee, led by Brothers Brian Boles and Michael Askins, who make it a priority to maintain regular contact with elder brothers, ensuring they continue to feel supported, valued, and celebrated within the fraternity.

“Brother Keyes represents the living legacy of Alpha — faith, duty, and service that spans generations,” said a member of the Brother’s Keeper Committee. “We stand on the shoulders of men like him.”

At 103 years old, Brother Keyes remains a shining example of Alpha’s enduring impact and a reminder of the power of lifelong brotherhood.
