On March 15, 2025, mentees from the Alpha Academy Mentoring Program, an initiative of the Eta Eta Lambda Chapter of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc., participated in a dual-campus college experience—visiting Morgan State University and Towson University.
The day began at Morgan State University, where students learned about the school’s strong academic legacy as one of the nation’s premier Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs). University representatives shared insights about student life, the admissions process, and available financial aid and scholarship opportunities. Mentees also explored the campus’s rich history and contributions to African American education and leadership.
The next stop was Towson University, where mentees experienced the atmosphere of a large, public research university. They engaged with staff and students who highlighted Towson’s diverse programs, campus resources, and welcoming community environment.
These experiences provided mentees with a broader perspective on the variety of college options available to them—illustrating that success can be achieved through multiple educational pathways.
Through Alpha Phi Alpha’s national program, “Go to High School, Go to College,” Eta Eta Lambda continues to invest in educational exposure, mentorship, and leadership development for young men across Anne Arundel County.
