Just weeks after the presidential election, the Eta Eta Lambda Chapter of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc. convened community members, civic leaders, and fraternity brothers for a timely and forward-thinking event—the Beyond the Ballot Forum.

From Election Night to Everyday Action

While Election Day marked the culmination of a long political season, the Beyond the Ballot Forum reminded attendees that true democracy continues long after the votes are counted. The event focused on how communities can plan, organize, and build programs that address the outcomes of the presidential election—no matter which way the results unfolded.

Participants engaged in thoughtful dialogue about policy impact, civic responsibility, and collective strategies to strengthen Annapolis and Anne Arundel County. Discussions centered on key issues such as education, economic empowerment, voter engagement, and youth mentorship—core priorities that align with Alpha Phi Alpha’s enduring mission of leadership and service.

A Vision for Sustainable Change

The forum also emphasized the importance of staying involved between elections. Attendees explored how to turn civic energy into sustainable community programs, fostering partnerships with local organizations and amplifying the fraternity’s legacy of advocacy and social impact.

“Beyond the Ballot is about reminding our community that leadership doesn’t end at the polling booth,” one brother reflected. “It’s about transforming our votes into vision, and our vision into action.”

Alpha Men in Action

True to its creed of Manly Deeds, Scholarship, and Love for All Mankind, the Eta Eta Lambda Chapter continues to lead efforts that inspire civic awareness, collective problem-solving, and social justice. The Beyond the Ballot Forum reaffirmed that even in uncertain political times, the spirit of brotherhood and service remains a guiding light.
